8th ChinaHE Conference

The 8th ChinaHE Conference – Bridges and Boundaries: China’s Global Higher Education Partnership, jointly organised by Centre for Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies and The University of Manchester, co-organised by the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and the Lingnan University, and supported by The Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Partnership (APHERP), was held at The Education University of Hong Kong's North Point Study Centre on 6 March 2026.

It was fantastic to see so many insightful presentations on topics ranging from Hong Kong as a global mobility hub, south-south and regional internationalisation, AI and transnational education futures, to China's university transformations and sustainable campus practices.

Standout moments:
🌟 Keynote lecture by Prof Ka Ho Mok on “Questing for International Higher Education Hub in Asia”
🌟 Keynote Panel Discussion: “Futures of Chinese Higher Education in the Multipolar World”
🌟 Special CHELPS Second Anniversary Cake and Photos Ceremony

Big thanks to the organising team including Prof Anatoly Oleksiyenko, Prof Mok Ka Ho, Dr Heather Cockayne, Prof Cai Yuzhuo, Dr Weiyan Xiong, Dr Pan Suyan, Dr Miguel Lim, Dr Yusuf Oldac, Dr Ying Yang, and all Panel Chairs and presenters.

These conversations on building meaningful global higher education partnerships while respecting boundaries are more important than ever.
