Centre for Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies

The Centre for Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies
The Centre for Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies (CHELPS) is the first and only higher education centre in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region dedicated to building relationships with counterparts in Chinese Mainland, East Asia and worldwide.
CHELPS is led by Director, Chair Professor Wang Chuang, and Executive Co-Directors Professor Anatoly Oleksiyenko, Dr Suyan Pan and Dr Weiyan Xiong, and draws on expertise in higher education studies from across The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). It enhances the quality of research communication and collaboration while connecting scholars and innovative practitioners in the Greater Bay Area, Greater China, Asia and the world. Our open-access journals provide a platform for intellectual debate and exchange among higher education scholars worldwide.
The Centre’s academic and development programmes include the Master of Arts in Global Higher Education (launched in September 2024), the Master of Arts in Higher Education Management [MA(HEM)] (set to launch from 2027/28 academic year) [*Subject to University's approval], and a Summer Institute. CHELPS welcomes international scholars and institutional leaders eager to learn from Chinese and Asian experiences and to build stronger research networks in regional and global higher education.
